In In September of 2019, a box of old 4-Track tapes was found. They included some of my work from the mid 90's to the middle 2000's, when I was a teenager to early 20's. Most of them had been recorded at high speed, making them sound extremely slowed down on a regular tape deck. I was able to borrow a Vesta Fire MR 10B 4-Track machine from a friend to run off the individual tracks to a secondhand Yamaha AW 16G. However this tape machine played at regular speed, though it did have a limited range pitch knob. Combining that with a whole step-range pitch control on my digital machine, the pitch was painstakingly bumped up closer to true pitch over the course of several passes. Along the way samples and extra instruments/ vocals were added. Many of the drum tracks were bolstered with another custom programmed drum track using FL Studio sample packs. These drum tracks were lined up by hand to match the original warbly tapes. A lot of trial and error to get them to align with the uneven tempo...hence the name of the album. Some of the tracks are still a lot slower than the original drum machine recordings, and may not line up exactly, but I like it that way. Most of the songs merge into one another, forming a 4 hour long collage of hypnotic sound. Some of the beats remain somewhat sparse; I encourage anyone who feels inclined to sample it or add their own stuff to it. Six months of labor and LSD went into making this monstrosity.
